We played around 9pm and the crowd seemed to dig us a little. We sold 1 cd and gave out a bunch of the Renfield Records comp. We left right after we played. We arrived at the club early so we drove around DC for a little while. Went back to the club and waited for a parking spot right in front of the club. We loaded in at around 7pm, set up our gear and sound checked, probably the best sound we have had as a three piece. We played at 9:30 then packed up and got ready to leave. Everyone seemed to like us although nobody bought anything. We did give away a bunch of the free CD's. We played with Eastern Homes(they were good) and the Jealous Lovers Target I think, We didn't get to stay and catch their set. The DC-9 is a nice place, it would be better if we had different bands and a weekend night to play there, then it would be a lot better.

February 20, 2005 New York, NY

2/20/05 CB's Gallery
Neil and I played an acoustic show. I joined Fairmont in 2003 and a week later we recorded "Anomie", and a month later I went on my first tour with Fairmont. I can't believe it's almost been seven years. I have no specific goals for this blog. I am going to start at the beginning of the tour diary and add a few shows at a time. I am going to write exactly what I wrote in the diary and only fix spelling. I'm going to leave in every detail, the good, the bad, the funny, and the sad. Fairmont has had its ups and downs and I hope this gives you, the reader some insight on what being in a band is all about, being with your best friends, playing shows and making what you consider to be great music. Enjoy!

-Andy

PS: I really hope Henry Rollins doesn't mind me borrowing the whole "Get in the van; on the road with Black Flag" thing, I mean I changed it up a little.
